Corbin's Surgery

Just wanted to let you all know his surgery went perfect.
He started around 8:40 and was done by 10:10. It took him a while to wake up completely. He was pretty upset and didn't know if he wanted to eat or sleep. He is fine now and sleeping most of the day. Thank the Lord it all went smooth and was clean and text book. Praise God.

We were suppose to arrive at 7:30, so when 1 of the surgeons called at 5:30am and left a message I was sure we had over slept. I called him back and he was at the hospital because his wife was in labor with their first baby. Needless to say he did not think he would be there for the surgery. He was to go at 9:30am, after the first surgeon. So, he said that he would try and get his partner to do it, if we agreed. Of course that was fine. I told him not to worry and enjoy the arrival of the baby. When we got there at 7:30am, the nurse said we would not be there as long since the second Dr would not be in. I told her I thought the Dr's partner was coming in. She then called our Dr. and he confirmed that his partner was actually at another hospital and would not be able to make it. I again assured him that was fine and we would just talk to him next week. 2 minutes later he called to say his wife insisted he go ahead and do the surgery. She was "stalled" as he put it during the labor:)
So, he went first and still made it back to St. Paul hospital before his baby was born. I was so thankful that he thought it was important enough to be there(in order to keep us from having to put Corbin under twice.)
In 20 years he will probably remember Corbin's surgery:) I am just glad it will not be because he missed his baby's birth!
Thank you for your prayers!
